Havmor Ice Cream, founded in 1944 and now part of Lotte Wellfood, is one of India’s leading premium ice cream brands. It has a strong presence across retail outlets, Q-commerce platforms, and flagship stores. Known for indulgence, authenticity, and innovative campaigns, they partnered with us to design a marketing initiative aimed at increasing customer retention and acquisition, driving first-time purchases, re-engaging existing customers while collecting actionable customer data. Challenges

Securing rewards with technology

To boost customer engagement, Havmor launched coupons as an incentive for customers to make a purchase. They designed a tiered reward system that offers progressively better rewards as customers spend more, motivating them to increase purchases to reach higher tiers. In this campaign, rewards ranged from Gaana subscriptions to silver and gold coins, creating aspiration and driving repeat engagement.
However, the campaign faced significant challenges: Duplication of rewards - Multiple customers from the same location were receiving identical prizes. Fraud risk - Lack of secure coupon generation and validation mechanisms. Scale and complexity - Over 10 billion coupon codes needed to be managed across multiple channels. Reporting gaps - No structured way to track redemption patterns, demographics, and campaign performance.

Mapping Out the Vision

To achieve the campaign’s objectives, combined technical expertise with creative design. This included building a responsive, brand-aligned website, implementing a secure coupon system, and developing an MIS reporting framework.

Cryptographic algorithm implementation

To address duplication and fraud, introduced a cipher-based encryption algorithm for all coupon codes. It ensured uniqueness of each coupon. Further, implemented one-time use validation through backend checks for a scalable architecture to handle 10 billion + encrypted codes securely.

    MIS reporting architecture

    Developed a robust Management Information System (MIS) for campaign analytics that captured: customer details, date and time of redemption, coupon type, and demographic insights. This enabled them to manage and track redemption status of their customers

    The solution delivered measurable results and significantly increased consumption. With zero duplication in coupon redemption, it ensured fairness and transparency. It strengthened customer trust through secure reward distribution and provided valuable data insights for future campaign planning.
